Bio

Bobby Charles was raised on the soulful streets of South Dallas. It was here he learned about music and life. Though he now resides in Plano, Texas, his heart will forever remain on those hardscrabble streets near Fair Park. Bobby has played for such notables as Jimmy Clanton and Roy Orbison, but is most proud of his time spent touring with the

 legendary bluesman, Jimmy Reed.

Bobby was also band leader at the world-famous Longhorn Ballroom for eight years, and has performed at almost every supper club, honky tonk, ballroom and night club in the Southwest. His vocal repertoire has grown to include every style of modern music from country to broadway and everything in between, and nobody sings Ray Charles like Bobby does!

The early 1980’s found Bobby in Nashville as a staff writer with Mel Tillis Enterprises, and several of his songs reached the national charts. His musical catalog was later sold to BMG Music Group, Inc., of Los Angeles, and he continued with them for the next two years.

Bobby Charles now performs at the finer restaurants and showrooms of the north Texas area. He currently appears at Ernie's of North Dallas in Addison, TX with his band.
